The Table widget loads all rows client-side by default. Past a few hundred rows, the UI freezes and pagination breaks. We implement server-side pagination with the correct query parameters so the table scales.
Custom Widget JS Scope Issues
JavaScript written inside a custom UI Bakery widget can’t reference data from other widgets directly. Shared state has to be passed through queries or appState, which isn’t obvious. We restructure the component architecture so widgets communicate correctly.
REST API Auth Token Expiry
UI Bakery caches API responses but doesn’t automatically refresh expired OAuth or JWT tokens. After the first expiry, every query fails silently. We implement a token refresh interceptor so API calls stay authenticated.
Role-Based Access Not Enforced Server-Side
UI Bakery’s permission system hides UI elements from certain roles but doesn’t block the underlying queries. A user who knows the endpoint can still fetch restricted data. We add server-side authorization so role restrictions actually hold.
Self-Hosted Upgrade Breaking App State
Upgrading a self-hosted UI Bakery instance can overwrite app configuration or break custom themes. We handle the upgrade safely, preserving your custom components, styles, and integration configs throughout.
